HEY! HEY! HEY!  It’s been a while but I’m back~

So, my return post is about a fabulous party I had!  Thanks to Quilted Northern® I hosted my fist House Party!  It was so much fun.  I had help from Alizia, who is a great friend and also a fabulous hostess. For those who were there, I had a fabulous time and am very glad you all came.  I hope you enjoyed your gifts and your coupons!  🙂

It’s late and i have to be up super early so I won’t be writing for long!  We had a party where we played with toilet paper, talked about the “do’s” and don’ts of bathroom etiquette.  I have actually been testing our theory about the cleanest stall also.  I know those who swear the first stall is the cleanest because it is the one that is used the most….not sure what kind of logic that is…and those who prefer the middle stall.  Well, after this week, I have deemed that in 4 out of 4 bathrooms the cleanest stall was the second!  The bathrooms all had 6 stalls and everyone went in #’s 1, 3, 5, and 6.  This might seem crazy but  no one wants to sit next to someone incase they are doing the “doo” so they skip a stall.  I decided to check out stall #2 (no pun intended!) when nobody was in 1 or 3.  Low and behold!!  It was SO clean, plenty of potty bibs, and two full rolls of TP.  (Not nearly as nice of TP as Quilted Northern though.) 

Now that you all think I spend too much time checking out toilets in the bathroom…I’m going to make one more trip to my bathroom and close my eyes for a few hours.  I got Black Friday planning to do tomorrow!!!!

My Garden

Last year I decided I wanted a garden and to be able to grow my own veggies. It was a whole lot more work than I thought (so was the canning!!) but so worth it when I could pick cucumbers off the vine for my girls or run out and pick some greens and tomatoes for a salad to go with dinner. (I won’t even start in on the homemade salsa because I just opened a jar of store-bought salsa the other day and it is NO where near as good as the homemade, although it took way less time to prepare!)

How do you keep animals out of the garden? Here are a few tips I found:

1.For Deer use human hair. Clean out your brushes or your local stylist and put around the border of the garden. Since deers do not like the smell of humans (now I know why deer hunters douse themselves in unmentionable things), they will avoid the area.

2.Bacon grease will keep away rabbits.

3.The noise created by aluminum pie pans will scare off raccoons. Attach them to a string and hang them around the garden to raccoon proof your crops.

4.Make a scare crow. It is fun to make with the kids but I’m not sure what it scares except me when I make the midnight potty trip and peek out the window!

5.Shave off some strong deodorant soap with a vegetable peeler and it will keep away lots of creatures including rabbits. You can mix a gallon of water and a couple teaspoons of cayenne pepper then spray on plants to ward off squirrels and rabbits.

My Easter Experience…

The other day I picked up a receipt from where my husband went grocery shopping and almost had a heart attack! He spent almost $50 for our amazingly great Lenten dinner on Friday (aka no meat) and the dinner items that would be needed for our Easter dinner.

Some might say “not bad” considering he got salmon, shrimp, scallops, spicy peanut sauce, a large Easter ham, macaroni and cheese (homemade= super yummy but not cheap!), broccoli, rolls, and charcoal. Thankfully there were quite a few items discounted as coupons by using the MVP card that gave us a savings of over $22!

Those who know me are probably thinking…”no coupons?!? Someone is going to get a lecture!” Yep! That is right…I had a fabulous coupon for over $2 off meat when you bought charcoal-ugh!!! That would have paid for almost a full meal (think spaghetti or tacos). I sat down to catch my breath and now I think the pain in my chest and left arm are subsiding…
